Al-Muṭaffifīn
This sūrah was revealed in Mecca and consists of 36 verses. It begins with a warning against the defrauders in weight and measures. It admonishes them that they shall be raised for retribution on a tremendous day, which is the Day of Resurrection. The chapter then presents an account of what the vicious and the virtuous will go through on that day. The theme of the opening verses—regarding the defrauders—is more compatible with Medinan chapters, but the rest of the verses can be either Meccan or Medinan.
