Infallibility (ʿIṣmah): a concept map

ʿIṣmah is the divine protection that keeps the prophets and the Imams from error and sin. ʿAllāmah Ṭabāṭabāʾī explains what it is and where it comes from, why the prophets must have it in receiving and conveying revelation, why the Imam must have it, and how the verses that seem to speak of their sins are to be read.
