The Covenant: a concept map

At the heart of this map is 7:172, where God took from the Children of Adam their acknowledgment of His Lordship. ʿAllāmah Ṭabāṭabāʾī sets out what the verse says, examines the two views that divided the scholars, and then gives his own reading. Around it are the Qur’an’s other covenants: with the prophets, with Adam, with the Children of Israel, and the covenant the people of understanding keep. Each point opens his own words in the commentary; points from views he examines are marked as such.
