Verse 7 (it is they who are the best of creatures): Jābir b. ʿAbd-Allāh reports that the Prophet said of ʿAlī, as he came in, "He and his followers will be the successful on the Day of Resurrection," and then this verse was revealed; after that, whenever ʿAlī came by, the Companions would say, "The best of creation has come." Ibn ʿAbbās says it was revealed about ʿAlī and his household. → Narrations
